The Tiger Cave Temple is located on the top of a mountain about three kilometers south of the city of Krabi. It is considered one of the most beautiful and special Buddhist temples in the district and is known, among other things, for the tall Buddha statues on top of it which, together with the height of the temple itself, have become particularly prominent in the skyline and as such constitute one of the iconic symbols of the district. For those looking for a spiritual experience, it is recommended not to miss a visit to the place.
The tiger cave and the temple in which it was built got their name thanks to the limestone rocks in which the magnificent main hall of the temple was carved, which in the past also contained tiger caves (today, symbolically, there are tiger statues in the place). Although the climb to the place lasts for exactly 1,237 steps (which is why it is mainly reserved for the well-wishers or particularly highly motivated people) it is one of the main and most visited points of interest in the region.
One of the most special things about the temple is the forest that surrounds it and makes it especially pastoral and peaceful, and as such it is one of the most recommended places for those who want to meditate or watch the monks and nuns who live in the complex during their sacred ceremonies.
In addition to these, you can get an impression during the visit to the place of a breathtaking panoramic view of the forest and the rice fields that are at its foot, an observation of the group of monkeys that live in the forest that kiss the temple and make their calls to the visitors, and of the structure of the temple, which in itself is considered particularly spectacular and includes a golden cone-shaped pagoda that rises to a great height, the The impressive statue of Buddha and one-of-a-kind gold decorations. Those who visit the place at sunrise or sunset will have a powerful experience here.
Thanks to the beautiful view and the special road leading to the temple, it is a great attraction for lovers of history, architecture and landscapes, and if there are children who can survive the long climb up the stairs (which can certainly be done with a few stops to refresh and take photogenic photos), then it is a nice day trip even with a family group.
Address - 35 Krabi Noi, Mueang Krabi District
