Copenhagen Known as one of the most visited islands in the world and among the most prominent islands of Thailand and for good reason. His name went far and wide thanks to Its spectacular beaches, the beautiful turquoise color of the sea, The multitude of attractions and the accommodations The excellent ones in it and of course parties the "full moon" and the "Half Moon", which attract crowds of young people. About 10,000 people live on the island, but every year several tens of thousands come to them, especially at the peak of the season, when the weather is dry, warm and pleasant.

Some of the island's beaches, especially in the western part, are less desirable, but the others definitely warrant a stop. Contrast to Kosmoy, the roads in Copenhagen are less developed, which can be a real challenge when it comes to driving and orientation and some of the beaches can only be reached by boat, which leaves the island, in general, less polluted and much more pleasant than other places.

Flights

Copenhagen can be reached by buses, trains, boats and of course also Internal flights, which are considered very popular. Travel or flight tickets to the island can be purchased from local travel agents in Thailand or through dedicated websites, which offer them at affordable prices. A preliminary market survey is highly recommended to locate the card at the most convenient cost and also an early purchase, a few months in advance, is an opportunity to find profitable deals. The most convenient and fastest way to get to Copenhagen is, as mentioned, by flight. There are flights throughout the year from Bangkok, the capital city, to Kopenhagen, although it is important to remember that their cost can be relatively expensive compared to other means of transport.

The flights that leave for Ko Pha Ngan are via Surat Thani. There are quite a few flights from Bangkok DMK airport to Surat Thani airport, which are offered at very attractive prices. After landing, to get to Kopenhagen, you have to get on a boat, which takes its passengers to the beautiful island. The two airlines that offer these flights from Bangkok to Surat Thani are Air Asia and Nok Air. This route takes, from the moment of departure until the moment of arrival to the island, around 4 hours, depending of course on the time of the flight's departure. For those who are not in a hurry and want to save money, this is not a bad solution.

When should you fly to Copenhagen?

Copenhagen is an island of belly flops, an island of parties and also an island of water activities and fun summer attractions. For this reason, the season of the year in which you arrive is very important, as the weather is a serious factor when planning a vacation on the island. The typical weather of Copenhagen It is a tropical climate, where there are two main seasons. The hot and relatively dry season lasts (at its peak) between January and April, while the rainy season is between May and January. You can expect rain and occasional sunshine from May to September and monsoons and heavy rains arrive in October to December. The temperature in Copenhagen varies and ranges between 24 degrees and 32, when sometimes they can be lower than that and reach 20 and sometimes rise to 36 degrees. You should make sure to order it a few months in advance.

Copenhagen Airport

Copenhagen Airport, which is still under construction, which started back in 2012, connects the island to Surat Thani. As of today, it is not active and its construction has been shut down due to alleged violations of the law, so currently there are no direct flights to Kopenhagen, as mentioned, but only at other, alternative points, meaning - through the Surat Thani airport.

Airlines

There are two airports in Bangkok that offer flights with an intermediate stop to Kopenhagen, flights operated by several airlines, the first of which is Bangkok Airways, whose flights usually depart from BKK Bangkok International Airport. Additional ways to get to Copenhagen

Besides flights to Copenhagen, there are, as we mentioned, other ways to get to the island. They are not suitable, of course, for those in a hurry or those whose time on the island is limited, but they are definitely an alternative way of arrival if you want to save costs. An overnight train is among the popular options among many travelers and is also an affordable and fun way to travel from Bangkok to Surat Thani. You can purchase a ticket for the second class of the train at an inexpensive price and enjoy air conditioning or a fan, chairs, a table and a pull-out bed. You can also purchase a first class ticket, which includes additional facilities and is more expensive. Either way, it is highly recommended to book your night train ticket in advance, as these trips are in high demand and fill up quickly (especially during the full moon). In addition, it is very important to note that the station where you get off is located in a central and accessible area to take transportation to the nearest accommodation, and the next day to continue to the pier where you board a boat to Copenhagen. The first departure of the night train from Bangkok to Surat Thani is at 17:35, the second at 18:30, the third at 19:30 and the last at 22:50. In any case, it is highly recommended to be updated about the exact hours on the train website.

Bus is a second option, which is also chosen by quite a few travelers. It is also the most economical way to the island. The bus ticket can be purchased online and also through travel agents (of which there are quite a few throughout Bangkok) and through hostels where you stay. These buses usually leave at 13:00 pm and reach Surat Thani in the evening. Those who choose this option will have to arrange a place to stay in Surat Thani until the next day, for the next ferry. Those who do not want to miss the ferry of the same day, can catch a night bus from Bangkok that leaves the city around 19:00 and arrives in Surat Thani in the early hours of the morning.
