Koh Hong (Hong Island)

Ko Hong is an archipelago (group of islands) located near the coastline of Crabby. The main attraction of the place is its calmness and beauty. Many travelers come to it for a day trip, where I will rest pastorally. However, it is not particularly massive and manages to maintain its quiet character.

The archipelago is part of a large national park called Than Bok Khorani. Because of this, entry to the place involves a fee of 400 baht for an adult and 200 baht for a child.

The archipelago includes about 12 islands, most of them are very small so they don't have beaches, but some of them have some wide beaches, clean and unspoiled, that you will want to lie on all day. The atmosphere in the area is particularly peaceful and the view is breathtaking. In addition, in the center of the archipelago there is a spectacular green lagoon (Hong Lagoon), it is surrounded by large rocks and between them you can sail or swim.

You can rent a kayak or a long-tail boat and sail between the islands. The water in the area is not deep at all (about a meter high), so you can also swim to your heart's content. Also, around the islands the water is incredibly clear and there are quite a few colorful fish and beautiful corals, so beyond the impressive view, this is a recommended site for snorkeling. If you go a little further, you can also enjoy successful fishing and diving (activities included in some of the organized tours to the area).

Most of the accommodations and tour companies in the tourist centers around - Krabi, Phuket And come to the nail polish - offer day tours to Ko Hong (can also be purchased online). These usually include a round trip to the location, lunch and free time in the area. Some of the tours include water sports activities or a stop at other places in the area, for example such as Koh Lading or Pak Bia Islands. It should be noted that the price range is very wide and changes depending on the season, so it is worth searching and comparing before you buy.

If you prefer to travel independently, you can rent a boat from Krabi (from Nopparathara Beach), at a cost of 1,500-3,000 baht (holds up to 6 people). The cruise from Krabi takes only about 15-20 minutes by speedboat, by long-tail about 40 minutes (a distance of 6 kilometers). Note that this is an area without restaurants, stalls or shops, so it's a good idea to get organized and stock up on food, drinks and anything else you might need during the day in advance.
