Waterfalls in Kosmoi

To be honest, most Israelis who come to Thailand do so less because of the spectacular nature and more because of the possibility of endless fun on the beach, at parties and in bars, maybe also Shopping in Bangkok, but to be honest, those who take their noses out of the hotel a little and try to get to know the surroundings, discover a particularly spectacular and diverse nature - also on the islands.

Island Kosmoy, which became famous mainly for The beautiful beaches And a high level of hospitality for travelers who have a budget, is an excellent example of a coveted corner of Thai nature, which Israelis tend to miss, but to be honest, Kosmoi is also famous around the world for the natural, beautiful waterfalls that can be found there.

The two most famous waterfalls on the island

The rich nature in Kosmoi offers many travel options within Kosmoi and at the same time, many travelers are mainly familiar with the beaches, and perhaps also the two most famous waterfalls of the island - Na Muang 1 and also Na Muang 2In fact, Kosmoy is rich in beautiful waterfalls, which should be known, but without a doubt, these are the two most well-known and visited waterfalls of the island.

The meaning of the name of the falls: "Na Muang" in Hebrew is: "the purple falls", because of the purple rocks found in the area. Between the two waterfalls is a national park called Na Muang Safari Park, which can be easily reached by motorcycle or car. This is a very touristic park, so it is almost always packed with visitors and tourists, who come to make day trips there.

1 Na Muang

The first waterfall rises to a height of 18 meters, very close to the access road and parking lot. That is why it is also very crowded with visitors, compared to other waterfalls on the island.

It is very easy to reach it by a short walk from the parking lot, on a controlled road, so you will find the waterfall easily. Along the way you will find many stalls selling food and drink, which have not yet developed enough to seriously damage the surrounding wild landscape. The waterfall falls into a small pool, in which you can bathe, so it is recommended to take towels and swimwear with you of course.

Na Muang 2

The second waterfall is further away from the road and the parking lot, so you have to walk a considerable distance to reach it, but this is also the reason why it is a less touristy waterfall and therefore worth the effort. can also Reach the waterfall using a local SUV, which will drive you, for a fee of course, up the mountain to a point, from where you can easily continue on foot, on a beautiful path in the jungle. The road includes passing through staircases and over small, narrow bridges, which blend perfectly with the abundant nature of the area, which enhances the special atmosphere.

At the end of the visit to the waterfall, you can return to the beginning of the road and wait for the local vehicle, which will take you back to the vehicle you arrived with.

reaching: The falls are about a forty minute drive from the famous Chaweng Beach, or about a twenty minute drive from Lamai Beach (which is no less famous). You can come independently or with a guide (for a fee) as part of an organized day trip.

For those arriving independently - the entrance is free, but the parking lot is paid.

Hin Lad Waterfall - Hin Lad Waterfall

At a distance of about two kilometers from the town of Nathon, right in the middle of the jungle, you will find the Hin Lad waterfall. he Much less famous than Na Muang Falls, but well worth a visit, especially after or during the rainy season, when it is full of water.

To get to Hin Lad waterfall, you will have to walk in the jungle for about half an hour on a marked path. But just before you start walking, you can stop at the beginning of the path to visit the Namtok Hin Lad temple, which is located on the bank of a small and beautiful natural pond.
