What to pack for Thailand

Despite its large, modern and vibrant cities, Thailand is seen by many as a kind of third world country to some extent, a country where parts are not developed at all, especially the remote ones. At the same time, being a very touristic country and loved by many travelers, it offers comfortable facilities for the most part and everything you need for a vacation from the movies. Because it is a diverse, large country and one with regions Different weather which can be very challenging for the Israeli tourist, it is highly recommended to prepare for the trip in advance and equip yourself with the appropriate equipment. In addition, the duration of the trip must also be taken into account. Many who come to Thailand do so as part of a trip of three weeks minimum and three months maximum for the most part, which means that the amount and variety of equipment also has meaning.

Remember In Thailand there are quite a few malls, markets and shopping centers of various sizes. If you are missing any item, and especially if it is an item of clothing or one intended for backpackers, you can get it in the big cities very easily, so there is no need to pack a bag that is too heavy, full of different items in the first place. If you plan to travel in more remote, remote areas, you may have difficulty filling in the gaps, so be sure to stock up accordingly ahead of time.

So, what do you take?

Here is a general equipment list that will help you prepare for the trip and enjoy a wonderful, worry-free vacation (we hope so):

First aid kit and medicines

Every trip exposes us to different diseases and health conditions, some of which can be dangerous. It is not intended here to scare or warn, but it is important to be properly equipped, whether it is a family with children, a group of young guys or even solo travelers. A first aid kit and medicines that you usually take on a regular basis are necessary. Today, you can get compact first aid kits that you can store in your day bag, when you go on short or long trips and also for the trips themselves.

Toiletries

You can find them, of course, in the various local stores, but their cost compared to other products is usually high. Therefore, it is advisable to stock up on toiletry products ahead of time (bring them from Israel), and if they have been fully used, buy new ones at the same destination where they are. In this list of products you will find: shampoo, liquid/solid soap, toothpaste, deodorant, wet wipes, bandages, tampons, pads and paper towels.

Mosquito sprays/ointments

If you also plan to travel in the more remote areas or the various nature sites, make sure to stock up ahead of time with mosquito sprays or ointments. These bites are usually not dangerous, but they may cause a feeling of discomfort, which is not easy to continue the trip with. The bites may grow and swell, turn red and later, if you do not keep the area clean and make sure not to scratch, also become infected. You should avoid all this, it is recommended, when you go out into nature to spread yourself.

Comfortable walking/hiking shoes

Even if you plan to spend most of your vacation on the beautiful beaches of the islands or at the various resorts, equip yourself with comfortable walking shoes or hiking shoes. There is in Thailand Quite a lot to see And a very wide variety of itineraries. If you want to go to one of them, you should have comfortable shoes with you that you can walk in anywhere and at any time. If you know in advance what the route is and plan to combine different walks in it, be sure to equip yourself with quality shoes, and if these are new shoes - wear them several times in Israel, before you go on a trip, to allow your feet, and you, to get used to them. Waterproof shoes are a great solution, especially due to the heavy rains and weather conditions that can be unpredictable or extreme in some areas.

Raincoat and umbrella

Much has been said and told about the weather in Thailand and the large amounts of rain in the relevant seasons. If you are planning to go on your trip to Thailand between the months of October and March, it is likely that you will not encounter very large amounts of rain, but it is possible that "here and there" you will be caught by a few showers, or in more unusual cases - rain that fell non-stop for long minutes. Either way, in order to be protected from the rain and to have a pleasant time walking around outside despite the drops, take a raincoat and a compact umbrella with you, which you should always have in your day bag, with which you move around during the trip.

Flip flops and a swimsuit

These two items are a must take. After all, it is impossible to visit Thailand without also visiting its amazing islands. Islands that offer soft white sand and turquoise water... islands with excellent and pampering resorts and also a host of attractions that make every vacation a dream. If so, be sure to stock up on them, especially if you plan to spend time "on your back" in the Thai islands or in hotels with swimming pools and other treats.

Copy important documents

This proposition is true for any destination in the world. Take copies of various important documents with you on the trip. For example: a copy of your travel insurance, a copy of the plane tickets and confirmations for the hotels and attractions you booked ahead of time, a photocopy of your passport, a photocopy of your driver's license (for those who have one) and a photocopy of the vaccination record.

Small souvenirs from Israel for people you meet

If the chance that you will meet locals is very high, bring small and beautiful souvenirs from home that symbolize Israel, Judaism. These can be small hamsas, postcards of well-known sites in Israel and other items that will make the new friends you meet along the way very happy. The same is true for meeting other travelers from around the world, who will also be happy for a nice little souvenir from Israel.

A small pad and pen

In today's era, we tend to document our lives, almost constantly, on social networks and through our phone camera. But no matter how long you go to Thailand, you are expected to gain extraordinary experiences and memories. A small notebook and pen will allow you to record them and also your feelings, which accompany them during the journey. It can be a kind of travel diary or a notebook or a small notebook that will record certain moments that you don't want to forget.
