If you are a fan of religious sites, with an emphasis on special temples, the Temple of Truth is undoubtedly a site you don't want to miss.
This is one of the most beautiful and impressive temples in Thailand, rising to a height of over one hundred meters and as such has become one of the iconic symbols of the city of Pattaya, located on the eastern coast of the Kingdom of Siam.
But it is not only its great height that makes the Temple of Truth extraordinary, but its entire construction work, behind which lies a fascinating story on the border of the unbelievable, but just like the name of the temple, so is the story behind it, completely real - the entire temple was made by hand, a work of thought and attention to detail, Through wood carving and not only that, but not even one tiny nail is involved in its construction! The types of wood used for construction are many and varied, which gives it great depth and a special character.
If so, it is not surprising that this complex construction lasted so long, so much so that from the year 1981 when its construction began until today, it is still under construction! However, happily, the fact that it is in the process of prolonged construction does not prevent it from being opened to the curious audience, and moreover, if you return to visit this beautiful place in the future, you will be in for some surprises.
During the visit to the Temple of Truth you can enjoy a great abundance of sculptures and art details (all carved from wood) that are on display in a building that is in itself an extraordinary work of art - its stairs are spectacularly designed, magnificent arches make it impressive from the inside as well and interwoven with special elements and decorations all related to the local culture and religion.
If you look up towards the high towers of the temple, you can see the four virgins, each of which symbolizes a different sign - peace represented by a virgin holding a dove, progress and science represented by a virgin holding binoculars and a book, philosophy represented by a virgin holding a lotus flower and human life are represented by a virgin who is next to old men and a child.
It is interesting to know that despite the great importance of the temple, the great thought and investment that went into it, it is not a religious site that serves as a pilgrimage center for the locals, but rather as a place that serves to represent, study and recognize the various cultures and beliefs in the East, the main of which is of course the Thai culture and the Hindu culture.
In addition to the spectacular building and the items displayed in it, large and small activities such as folklore shows and a small market with food stalls are held there.
