Chinese temple

Kuan yin

Copenhagen is one of the most varied islands in the department - on the one hand it offers its visitors an experience of peace and tranquility and on the other hand it is known for parties that last until morning and a particularly lively nightlife scene, but one thing is indisputable - this is an island that has such an abundance of attractions , making it a great destination for individuals, groups, young people and families with children.

In the northwest of the island of Copenhagen, on the sides of the road leading from Thong Sala towards Chaloklum is located One of the most beautiful and special attractions - the Chinese temple - which without a doubt is a different and special site in the local landscape.

Behind the beautiful place which was established in 1990 and opened its doors to the curious visitors, there is a particularly fascinating story, which if one had to choose an appropriate title for it, it would probably be "When dreams come true".

The story begins three decades ago, when a nice lady visited the island and while vacationing there, while sleeping in the Gangthom Temple, she had a dream. And in her dream was a heavenly revelation of the Chinese Buddha himself, who ordered her to build a spiritual lighthouse - a place that would illuminate the hearts and souls of those who visit it.

After waking up and remembering the dream, the lady returned to Bangkok where she began raising funds in order to build the long-awaited building. To her delight, the amount of money she collected during the fundraiser was higher than expected, which allowed her to build the beautiful temple that stands today. The construction of the temple was completed after about three years, in 1993.

In fact, it is not a single temple, although it is a complex with 7 buildings - beautiful colorful pagodas, a spectacular dragon drum, wind chimes that carry their playing into the distance and a large golden statue of Buddha. In addition to these, visitors to the temple will enjoy a breathtaking view of the northern coast of the island and the nearby coconut tree forest.

The atmosphere in the place is considered particularly magical, many attribute this to the merit of the wind chimes which play a gentle melody that can be heard in the distance and gives the place a bright and peaceful atmosphere, but in addition to them, the combination of the Chinese dragons and the local gods as shown in this temple, is unique.

During the tour of the place, you can be impressed by the buildings, the special colors, the pleasant sounds and the special sculptures that are there, and you can behave like a local, rub the belly of Buddha or light incense sticks, hoping that your dreams will come true... and we have already made it clear - dreams do come true in Thailand.

It should be noted that this is not mandatory, but it is customary to leave a modest monetary tip.
