The Secret Beach in Copenhagen, also known as Haad Son, is a beautiful and very popular beach located in the western part of the island. Access to the beach
The easiest way to get to the island of Copenhagen is by ferry from the neighboring island of Kosmoy. The Secret Beach is located about 10 km north of the ferry terminal in Thong Sala. To get to the beach you can rent a scooter or take a taxi. A sign with the inscription "The Secret Beach" indicates the way to the beach.
What is recommended to do at the beach?
Bar and restaurant – Koh Raham
Just above the beach and at the end of it is the Haad Son resort with a very nice restaurant called Koh Raham. This is one of the coolest bars in Copenhagen. And it is located in a mini jungle and has swings, hammocks and colorful lights among the trees which create a truly amazing atmosphere. The restaurant extends towards the cliffs that create a spectacular view of the ocean and the beach, in front of which it is worth relaxing in one of the pleasant hammocks, and sipping a refreshing shake. In addition to all this, the restaurant has not only delicious Thai food, but also the possibility to swim in deeper water, go fishing and enjoy the sunset.
Swimming, snorkeling and more
You will find the best place to snorkel at Secret Beach near the cliffs near the Koh Raha restaurant. If you jump into the water directly from the restaurant (pay attention to the "diving site" sign), you will immediately be surrounded by corals and shoals of fish. Sea turtles were even spotted there. Definitely a special place for snorkeling. Snorkeling equipment can be rented for 100 baht directly from the restaurant.
The best time to swim at the beach is at high tide, although in the monsoon season (September-December) there are many waves. It is also possible to rent kayaks and jet skis at the beach. If you are staying (i.e. staying) at the Secret Beach, you can also walk to many other great beaches nearby, and enjoy amazing viewpoints and other attractions in the area. You should also rent a scooter or schedule day trips through a local tourism company.
Overnight at the Secret Beach
Secret Beach does not have a large variety of accommodation, and you can only find a few bungalows. Although the Haad Son Resort described above has a super cool bar, there is more Two other special and beautiful places worth mentioning: the first is the "Secret Beach Bungalows" - a charming resort run by a family. It is the perfect place to relax for a few days, the bungalows are simple and clean and with a few steps you are in the ocean water; the second is "Tantawan Bungalows": Although it is about a five-minute walk from the beach, it is especially worth it and also offers a pool and a breathtaking view, which make the accommodation experience truly special.

Throughout the island of Copenhagen there are no regulated rescue services or marking by flags. That's why when you go swimming at the secret beach (or any other beach) it's important to be very careful. It is always recommended to check the Weather Forecast Before visiting a certain beach, and remember that the monsoon season is between the months of September and December, when it is not recommended to visit the beaches at all.
