Siam City Park is a large and diverse amusement park located about 30 kilometers from the city center Bangkok (about 45 minutes drive without traffic jams) and at a distance of 20 kilometers from the city's airport (Suvarnabhumi Airport). The place was established in 1980 and is considered the oldest amusement park in the East (and also one of the largest on the continent). The park is a very popular tourist site for day trips from Bangkok. This is a very rich and experiential place and a mandatory stop for family trips in the area.
The complex is divided into several main areas - a water park, a classic amusement park and an area dedicated to Thai culture and heritage. Inside you will find dozens of facilities suitable for all ages, a mini safari, a botanical garden, museums, a variety of food stalls and more. Don't worry, upon entering the place you will receive a map and a leaflet that will explain everything to you. The attractions in the park are divided into different themes - the world of fantasy, the Jurassic Park, an African village, without a doubt, an extreme area... As you probably already understood, the variety is huge and you probably won't get bored.
The park earned its place in the Guinness Book of World Records as the one that contains the world's largest wave pool and the fastest and tallest water slide. In addition, there is one of the largest spiral roller coasters in the world.
Along with the many facilities, you can also enjoy a pampering Thai massage, shops, dance performances and a meal in one of the various restaurants of the place.
The place provides all the necessary services - ATMs, storage of belongings, equipment rental, convenience stores and more. So you don't have to worry about anything in advance.
As mentioned, the park is outside the city. The easiest way to get there is by taxi. The length of the trip depends very much on the traffic on the roads (it can take up to an hour and a half), so it is better to determine the price with the driver in advance (and not to run a meter). Prices range from 200 to 500 baht (from central Bangkok).
If you arrive in a rented car, you will surely be happy to find out that there is an organized free parking.
The opening times of the park are every day, 10:00-18:00. The water park closes one hour early. You should take into account that on weekends and holidays the place is especially crowded with visitors, so the crowding and queues increase significantly.
The entrance tickets usually include lunch at the buffet (open at 11:30-14:30). The cost for an adult is 1,100 baht, for children up to a height of 130 cm - 850 baht and for children under a meter - the entrance is free.
You can purchase tickets in advance online, which offer various deals that include additional attractions in the area, usually at cheaper prices.
