Thailand is not only Beautiful beaches and parties, it also has a lot of fine culture that is definitely not worth giving up on a trip. From museums that do not fall short of their well-known brothers in Europe to impressive art galleries - Thailand has it all. The Gallery of the Queen Mother of Thailand is one of the most famous art bastions in the country. It was established relatively recently, in 2003, as an expression of the Queen's wish. As a sign of respect she was named after her.
The five-story building serves as a permanent home for a collection of local works of art, especially sculptures and paintings, and is open to the general public at a nominal price. Until the establishment of the gallery, a national painting competition was held every year, in which the Queen awarded the prizes in a magnificent ceremony. After accumulating so many high-quality works, the need arose to provide them with an orderly home and thus the gallery was founded.
The gallery covers a very large area of about 3,700 square meters. It has permanent and changing exhibitions, on various topics. The exhibitions are divided according to the type of creators - young artists, creators from the royal family or successful national artists. The artistic variety is special and very wide, from avant-garde works to traditional sculptures.
