Khawasan Street is a good starting point for the rest of the points of interest in Bangkok, it is located near Ratchadamnoen Avenue, a large main avenue that connects to the historical area of ​​Bangkok, the temples and tourist sites in the city. Banglamphu Market - Market in the street located near Kwasan Road. While the market in Kwasan is a good place to buy t-shirts, flip flops and other travel essentials, this market will give you an authentic Thai experience and the prices drop accordingly.

Democracy Memorial - A building built in 1939 to celebrate the country's transition to democracy. The site is located in the center of Ratchadamnoen Avenue, a few minutes' walk from Kwasan Street.

Phra Sumen Fort – One of 14 historical forts built to protect the political center of Thailand from a possible attack. Today only two of the 14 remain. The fort is located on a road called Phra Athit, near Kwasan Street and offers a great view of the Chao Phraya River.

Wat Bowonniwet Vihara - An impressive Buddhist temple built under the reign of King Rama III. The magnificent temple is built in the Thai-Chinese style. It contains a large Buddha image from the 19th century and is strongly associated with the Thai royal family.

Used bookstores - Kwasan Street is home to a large selection of shops for buying used books. You can find books in any language and on any subject, from travel books to classic novellas. Try the biggest store in the area - Shaman Bookstore.

Where do you eat? 

Chomp Comfort Café - A cute cafe that serves hamburgers, sandwiches and a host of other western foods, alongside a selection of fortified and generally inexpensive cocktails. The place is on a street corner Samsen Soi, a short walk from Kwasen Street.

Hemlock – A cool and chicly designed restaurant. is on Phra Athit Road. Jazz is played all day and local art is on display, making it a nice place to relax and enjoy dinner with friends. The kitchen is open until midnight, so you can gorge until late. 

May Kaidee Samsen - A vegetarian Thai restaurant located a few minutes' walk from Kwasan Street. This is a slightly expensive restaurant, but totally worth the price.

Ranee's Restaurant – A restaurant that serves authentic Italian food: pizzas, pastas and good desserts. Located in a small side street connected to Kwasan - Trok Mayon. The prices are a bit expensive compared to the other restaurants in the area, but the atmosphere in the place is particularly calm and pleasant.

Bombay Blues – A wonderful Indian restaurant located on the quiet street Soi Rambuttri. Besides traditional Indian dishes, you can also enjoy games like Jenga and hookah smoking. A fun experience for a night out with friends.

Tom Yung Kung – A popular and highly recommended Thai restaurant on Kwasan Street. The place serves delicious seafood and there are lovely performances of Thai folklore. The atmosphere is authentic and calm.

Shoshana - an Israeli restaurant that opened in 1982. There you can find tourists from all over the world and it's no wonder because the food is fresh and delicious and the dishes are affordable.

Cozy House - a restaurant belonging to the guesthouse on Samsen Soi 2. The restaurant serves a selection of Thai and Western dishes and operates until the wee hours of the night.

Snack Bar Bkk - Bar-restaurant located next to Cozy House. Serves great hamburgers, schnitzel, salads and many other western dishes but also a good selection of good Thai ones.

Krua Apsorn - a restaurant located on the same street that serves a selection of excellent Thai dishes. The restaurant is also loved by the locals. The popular dish is lobster in curry. Note that the kitchen closes relatively early, at eight o'clock in the evening.

In Love Bar and Restaurant – Thai restaurant with a spectacular view of the Chao Phraya River. The name is not misleading, the experience at the place is particularly romantic and ideal for couples looking for some peace and a pleasant time in Bangkok.

Where do you hang out? 

Kwasan Street is known as a nightlife hotspot for travelers in Bangkok and offers a good atmosphere and cheap bars. After sunset, the street is filled with lights and the market becomes an area that is all one big party. Here are some recommended places:

Hippie the Bar – A place designed in the style of the 60s in the USA. The menu is varied and excellent and the music is relaxing.

The Club - A high level bar compared to the other bars in the area. The design is modern and full of neon lights. The drinks are slightly more expensive than average but the happy party atmosphere makes it worth it.

Brick Bar – a bar located on the first floor of the Buddy Lodge accommodation. The bar hosts locals and tourists and offers cheap drinks and great live performances.

Mulligans Irish Bar – is located near the Brick bar. A classic Irish pub that attracts both tourists and locals. The main advantage of the place is the late closing time (4 am), compared to the other places in the area, which close much earlier.

Adhere the 13th - A small and special pub on Samsen road. The music played is mainly blues and the crowd is mainly hipster and consists of young Thais and tourists. The live music starts around 21:00 and continues until midnight.
