The world of tourism model 2021 is going to look a little different from what we knew until an unknown virus broke into our lives called COVID 19, which is better known to all of us as the corona virus. Tourism is a growth engine for almost every country, certainly for a country like Thailand whose amazing landscapes attract tens of millions of tourists every year, about a quarter of a million of them Israelis. Therefore, stopping the world of tourism almost completely for many months threatened to collapse entire economies, and the return to normal after the world has learned to deal with the virus is inevitable and is already visible on the horizon, in one way or another.

Thailand, as a country that bases a significant part of its economy on tourism, was one of the first to try and formulate an outline through which the tourists could return and enjoy its amazing beaches and everything the country has to offer. In the country, they are doing everything they can to get enough vaccinations for all workers in the tourism sector, to make at least this field relatively safe and to start bringing the tourists back to the country, in the first instance under certain restrictions.

In addition, the Thais were impressed by the vaccination campaign held in Israel, and recognize the vaccination given in Israel, so the Israelis have an advantage over tourists from other parts of the world in regards to entering and staying in Thailand.

The Thai government formulated an outline that will allow the gradual return of tourists to Thailand, starting in April 2021. As the data is encouraging, an increased flow of tourists will be possible, to different regions of the country and with fewer restrictions on them.

But, let's start at the beginning, how it's going to look and what we need to know for the return of tourism to the Kingdom of Siam.

A vacation in Thailand - this is what it's going to look like

In Thailand, as mentioned, they decided to allow the vaccinated to arrive relatively freely in the country, and decided to open the field of tourism in three strokes - Phuket first, and then the whole country:

second beat: starting from1.7.2021 Vaccinated tourists will be able to come to Phuket with children up to the age of 18 (also unvaccinated), and travel freely around the island without isolation. After a week and a corona test with a negative result (to be performed upon arrival at the hotel) they will be able to travel freely in five other areas in Thailand: Khao Lek, Koh Samui, Krabi, Chiang Mai and Pattaya.

Third beat: starting from1.10.2021 Vaccinated tourists will be able to arrive at any destination in Thailand, spend a week in isolation at the hotel and after receiving a negative test result (to be carried out upon arrival at the hotel) they will be allowed to travel freely in Thailand without restrictions.

Hotels for isolation in Phuket

The hotels where it will be possible to stay in isolation are not prison facilities, God forbid, but hotels that are in an arrangement with the state and have received permission to host isolated tourists. In many cases, these are real luxury hotels that have prepared "packages for those isolated", so that this week can pass you by relatively comfortably. In fact, in Phuket it will be possible to stay in isolation for a week in many hotels, at all levels.

Of course, the stay is at your expense, although many hotels have prepared an "isolation package" for travelers that may save you some money while you wait for the time to pass.

Some of the recommended hotels for isolation in Phuket:

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
A resort 100 meters from the beach that offers a pampering spa, 2 pools and beautifully designed rooms
⭐⭐⭐
An excellent 3-star hotel for those interested in a relaxed stay, not far from the lively part of Patong Beach.

And what about flights to Thailand?

As of April 2021, the direct flights from Israel to Thailand have not yet resumed operation, therefore the possibility of reaching Thailand involves a connection between flights, with an intermediate stop in Dubai or Europe. You can fly with companies such as Emirates, Swiss, Lufthansa and Austrian Airlines. Estimates in the field of aviation are that towards the month of July, when the revival in the departure of Israelis towards Thailand will subside, the direct flights to the country will also return.
