Ferry from Kopipi to Krabi

Coffeey It is one of the most beautiful places Thailand has to offer. It is actually a group of islands, six to be exact, with only the largest of them inhabited (Koh Phi Phi Don). The area has become particularly well known for Maya Bay, the site where the famous Hollywood movie, "The Beach", starring Leonardo DiCaprio, was filmed. At a distance of 46 km from Kofifi are the islands Phuket and Co-Lanta as well as a province Crabby The well-known, well-known and well-loved resorts. From these three places, travelers usually make the transition to Kofipi and back. As with many islands in Thailand, the way to Kophipi is only by sea, by ferries or speedboats. It should be noted that at the entrance to the island there is an entrance tax of 20 baht that you will have to pay.

An important tip - It is very advisable to arrive at the departure point half an hour or even an hour before the sailing time. This is to get a good seat and not stand for a long time in line for the ferry that will depart afterwards. It is also recommended to buy the travel ticket in advance, even the day before. This way the price will be lower and you can guarantee that you will have a place (during peak tourism seasons the tickets are snapped up like hot cakes). Tickets can be purchased at local travel agencies or online. There you can also get an updated and detailed schedule of the ships leaving.

The mooring point in Krabi, where the ships departing from and to Ko Phi Phi are located, is at Klong Jirad Pier, which is located 3 km south of the city. The place is accordingly also called Phi-Phi Island Pier. The ferry ride lasts about 90 minutes, depending on the weather conditions and the state of the waves. Every day 4 ferries leave in both directions, starting at 9 am, every two hours approximately (the last one leaves at 15 pm). The docking point in Kofipi is usually close the hotels and the points of interest on the island. You can walk from there or take a short taxi ride. The price of a ticket for such a ferry starts at 450 baht.

The upper deck of the ferry is often a sun deck spring and it's nicer to sit there. You can enjoy the sea breeze and get a good view of the landscape during the cruise. If you are hot or prefer shade, the lower floor of the ferry is covered and air-conditioned. It also usually has a small kiosk where you can buy drinks and snacks.

Another transportation option to go between Krabi and Kopipi is a speed boat. The boat allows for an extremely fast passage (about a 45-minute cruise instead of an hour and a half on the ferry) and a more fun and authentic experience than the Andaman Sea of Thailand. The speedboats can pick you up from the nearest beach to the hotel or resort where you are staying. If not, you can ask the hotel to order a mini-van to take you to the departure point or take a taxi so you don't have to carry a lot with your luggage and bags. Of course, this is a much more expensive option compared to the ferry, but for those who value sailing in style and being flexible with the times, it can certainly be suitable. The matter can pay off especially if you are traveling in a group. The price of such an attraction depends on the type of boat you choose and ranges from 8,000 to 13,000 baht (6-passenger boat). It is important to note that it is not recommended to take a fast boat in the rainy season, when the sea can be very stormy and sailing can be dangerous and especially unpleasant (referring to the period between September and November in particular).

If you want to take advantage of every moment of your vacation, you will be happy to know that the local tour companies also offer cruises between Krabi and Kopipi, which will allow you to experience a pleasant trip along the way. You can stop at points of interest, do marine activities such as snorkeling and enjoy a meal on the boat, against a spectacular sea view. At the end of the day the boat will drop you off on the island.
