The "Green Mango" club in Kosmoy is one of the most popular and famous nightclubs in Kosmoy, and has been playing an important role in the island's nightlife for over 20 years. The place is located in the center of Chaweng Beach, at the end of Soi Green Mango Street, named after the iconic place. It's a colorful, happy, bouncy place, and if you like dancing and the nightlife scene, there's no doubt that this is a must-stop on the island.
The club is open every night from 21:00, but the parties start right around midnight. Usually there is an increase in the amount of the crowd around 2:00, after the nearby bar "Ark" closes. Ironically, 2:00 am is also the club's official closing time, but normally the parties there last until 5 am and beyond. Although the dance floors at the club are among the largest in Kusumui (assuming you don't count the beach), the place tends to be very busy.
The scene in the club is truly spectacular: a mix of modern music. Beautiful colors and a young audience. There isn't really a dress code, and you can find yourself rushing around among young tourists rocking around in dresses, t-shirts, and discarded clothes. The Green Mango is especially popular with tourists, and although you won't usually run into locals there, there are still a few locals who frequent the club.
The club is mostly open but roughly divided into two spaces. In the first space, near the entrance, you can dance to the sounds of mainstream music: hip hop and R&B. And when you move to the second space, you will reach the warehouse-like main building and encounter a design and atmosphere that gives more of a night club feeling. In the second space the emphasis is on electronic music: music Techno, Dance, and EDM. The two areas "compete" with each other, and of course the volume in both expansions is at a high intensity to move all the bones in the body.
The club has a look that combines the natural with the industrial - it is built in an old warehouse-like structure with a glass roof, but in an effort to emphasize the natural look, a huge and wide tree rises near the entrance, and the wooden floors and bridges testify to the concept of the place as a kind of tropical tree house. The club contains a large number of bars, pool tables, large screens, food stalls, chill out corners, and a very wide area to dance on.
At the recording stations you can see famous local and international DJs, working with the most sophisticated sound and lighting technologies. The big advantage of the club is the fact that most of it is in the open air, as the rush of people combined with the glass roof can sometimes feel like a greenhouse, so if you are in the closed part prepare to sweat a lot!
Entry to the club is free and drink prices are reasonable (compared to a nightclub in a popular vacation destination). It's usually best to buy vodka served in buckets with ice and share it with friends. It is highly recommended to check in advance if there is a special event taking place during your stay in Koh Samui such as a performance by a famous DJ, a special concept party, etc.
In short, if you like to dance and party until late at night - Green Mango is the club for you. There you can jump from square to square for hours, get cheaply drunk, or just snack on popcorn while watching a sports game on a huge screen. What's for sure - you must not miss the crazy night experience that this club has to offer.
