Ang Thong National Marine Park is located in the Kosmoy Islands Archipelago and is known for its breathtaking views, forested peaks, and a wide variety of wildlife species and exotic plants.
For lovers of nature and landscapes, hikers looking for spectacular routes to hike or families with little ones who want to spend a fun day in nature, the marine park nature reserve is without a doubt one of the best options and visiting the place is an unforgettable experience.
In the marine park there are over forty small islands spanning over 100 square kilometers, including special rock formations, pristine beaches with soft white sands, an exotic tangled jungle with tropical vegetation and thousands of species of animals and wild animals, bays, waterfalls and beautiful lakes - and all this above the surface of the background!
A peek under the clear turquoise waters will reveal before you a breathtaking sight of a spectacular coral reef and countless species of plants and marine creatures living in harmony side by side. It is important to note that all the areas in the nature reserve are considered a protected area and reaching them is done mainly through tours that depart daily from several destinations, headed by the city of Nathon.
Among the most recommended activities in Ang Thong National Marine Park:
- Snorkel along the beach – the coral reef and marine life are right off shore so almost any spot you choose to snorkel will yield great views.
- A hike on one of the many hiking trails in the reserve - starting with easy trails suitable for families with small children and ending with trails reserved for those with high physical fitness.
- Deep diving - there are quite a few excellent points for those who have a diving license and equipment. If you don't have equipment, you can of course rent equipment and even join a guided dive.
It is also important to say that most visitors to the park are there as part of a day trip, but it is certainly possible to stay there for a longer time, which will allow you to walk around the place, get to know it in depth and even meet animals that are usually hidden from the eyes of visitors because they avoid moving close to the main paths. If you want to do this, there are several places to stay and it is recommended to reserve a place in advance.
Activity time - 08: 00-17: 30
Tickets and prices - Tickets can be purchased at any travel agency and at some accommodations and they include close instruction, lunch, light drinks and snorkeling equipment. During the tour you will enjoy visiting the beautiful beaches, wading in the water, light snorkeling and some "self" time where you can sunbathe, eat at a restaurant or take some photogenic pictures.
Average cost - 2,000-2,500 baht.
Another option is to rent a private boat with a paddle, which will allow you to move around flexibly and stop at the sites of your choice.
The rental price is about 5,000 baht (plus 400 baht entrance fee to the park), so if you are part of a group the profit increases.
