One of the reasons for keeping the place a secret and the lack of desire to make it commercialized and touristic, are the stories hidden behind it, which undoubtedly give the place a special atmosphere that surrounds the visit and paints it in a mysterious and fascinating light.

According to legends, this is the place where the story of "the princess, the mermaids and the giants" took place (mythical characters from a poem written in the 19th century by the famous writer Sunthorn Phu) which inspired many stories and beliefs in Thai folklore. In addition to these, the locals say that the island was used for a long time as a stronghold of pirates who hid many treasures buried there to this very day.
