So how much does a trip to Thailand really cost? Get to know the baht and forget the shekel

The baht is the official currency of Thailand and as of October 2022, one shekel = 10.79 baht THB.

In order to convert the shekel to baht, it is recommended to arrive in Thailand with dollars or euros, because their conversion rate is better. 

Several additional recommendations regarding the bat:

  • It is better not to buy baht in Israel as the conversion rate will be higher in Thailand itself.

The cost of the plane ticket to Thailand depends on the company you choose to fly with, the duration of the flight, the number of connections and, of course, the season. Based on this data, the cost of flight tickets starts at about $650 (2,300 NIS) per ticket and reaches up to $1,500 (5,300 NIS) and upwards.

How much does food cost in Thailand?

In Thailand you will not lack food, that's for sure. Whether you keep kosher, love Thai cuisine or people with a delicate and European taste - you will find plenty of restaurants and foods.

  • At the various street stalls you will pay about $3 for a good meal (yes, it's delicious!).
  • In simple tourist restaurants you will pay about $7 per person.
